Abstract

This thesis is to study the curriculum management of an Islamic private school and it is found that most of the students evaluate the Islamic Study Curriculum of the lower and upper secondary level of the year 1992 as moderate, low and then high in that order. As for the levels of the students’ life quality it is found that the majority of them in 10 separate activities are moderate, high and then low in that order. Some major factors that might influence the students’ life quality such as sex, educational level, average grade level and the factors of the family such as the parents’ educational level, the places which their career occupied and the economic status of the families are not related to the students’ life quality statistically. But, it was found that the main factor of the management of the Islamic Study Curriculum of the lower and upper secondary level of the year 1992 such as the academic management, the teaching implementation and the community arrangement. All these three aspects significantly affect the students’ life quality at a level of .000. The problem and obstacles in the use of this curriculum about the learning process at Azizstan Foundation School can be divided into 3 categories; the students’ problems, derived mostly from having poor parents and facing stress because of the heavy load of study in the school. The problem which happens to the teachers is the lack of teachers in science, mathematics and English and that most of the teachers teach in the wrong fields resulting in students having poor efficiency. The last problem is the insufficiency of the school buildings in proportion to student numbers which increase every year. In addition, the limits of teaching materials are also obstacles. Thai Muslim Students’ Quality of Life in Islamic Private School is overall not high enough. It is only abstemious living and by living sufficiently following the Islamic principles, that the students will grow up without any problems. Compared with the out side society and being Thai, there is a limitation of teaching materials and other material helping them to develop in order to compete and be equal to other societies.
