Abstract |
The investigation was concerned with the conversion to Christianity of the Akha ethnic group in villages in Tambon Wawi, Mae Suay District, Chiang Rai Province. The focus of the study was on how the ethnic group integrated Christianity into their animistic belief system and how Christianity affected their livelihoods and beliefs. Case studies were examined when the ethnic group encountered sicknesses or when agricultural yields were not productive. In these cases, the investigation wanted to find out how animistic beliefs were adapted with Christianity and whether there were any religious conflicts in such cases.
