Abstract |
The thesis investigated the past and present lifestyle and environment of the Lisu elderly by observation and by interviewing the ethnic elderly.
It is found that the elderly had mostly maintained their conventional lifestyle until now. However, they had changed to use money more often, making some elderly worried that they would have no money and their children would abandon them. Nevertheless, most of them were well adapted to the present environment. They had remained healthy by eating their ethnic food; drinking tea; exercising by working in the fields, doing chores and walking; going to bed and getting up early; and taking a siesta.
