Abstract |
Nowadays, the government and non-government organizations are increasingly interested in rural development plans, with the aim of expanding economic development to the countryside. This plan involved the Thai Business Sector and is co-ordinated by the NGO’s. By this concept, one large business company decides to contribute to this development plan and chooses a Hmong village in Chiang Rai province as a pilot project. This hill tribe has a distinguished culture and its own way of life. When the development plan is implemented at the village, some plans are unsuccessful because the developers do not pay attention to Hmong culture and their social organization so the developments do not respond to the needs and the ways of life of the Hmong.
