Abstract |
The article investigates changes in social ethics of the ethnic Hmong, which are influenced by various complex contexts, particularly the contexts of urban expansion and globalized locality. The work points out that the moral values and principles of the Hmong are social products and are related to changed social structures, not natural or existing principles. In the mean time, these principles are part of a new historical consciousness, not subconscious or customary behavior. The Hmong’s cultural identity confirms their existing traditional and moral values and its changes are related to their social structure (p.108).
