Abstract |
Traditional healing processes are conducted in the Karen community by Hee Kho or the village head who oversees the village administration and conducts healing rituals. Folk healers in the community include a mantra healer, a diagnosis healer, a midwife, a bone healer, and an herbalist. They believe in and respect supernatural powers which are intricately involved in their ways of life. However, economic development and dwindling forest resources have adversely affected their livelihoods.
