Abstract |
The belief system of the Hmong ethnic group is involved with supernatural powers, especially concerning spirits. A sorcerer who is respected in the community is in charge of communicating with spirits or angels. Healing processes might include the use of medicinal plants and mantra chanting. Family members are involved in every step of treatment. The article contains various pictures without captions, mostly about lifestyles of hilltribes. They appear on pages 35-37, 39, 43, 47-51, and 54-55.
