Abstract |
This work discusses about homes of Pow Karen at Mae Chang Village, Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province. It was found that the ethnic homes were suitable for the type of environment, weather conditions, and social, economic and cultural contexts. These homes were built on slopes and constructed on the north-south direction with the front facing the road. These structures were divided into two types. A big house separated a rice barn in the front, while a small one stored rice within the house. Under the house kept farming tools and animals. Construction materials were available in the locality, which was suitable for their status and lifestyle.
