Abstract |
This work describes the eating customs of the Karen, their habits and practices as well as the roles of such beliefs, habits and practices affecting the community and the way of life of the people in the community. The results point out that Ju-Ta Ou are the olden food beliefs and practices which the people in the community have believed in for a long time and continue to believe in as part of the ancestors’ heritage. Their beliefs and practices play an important role in the community and their way of life especially with pregnant women, post natal mothers, children, elders and etc. The evidence of their beliefs and practices have existed until now.
