Abstract |
Sixty-five percent of Hmong married couples with wives under 20 years of age had live children. From analyzing the relationship between major, minor and supplementary factors and procreation and non-procreation in the husband group, wife group and married couple group, it is found that the attitude toward birth control of the husband group and encouragement from parents to have children were significantly related to procreation (p<.001). Results from Step-Wise Categorization Analysis revealed that encouragement from parents to have children could predict procreation and non-procreation behavior in the husband group, wife group and married couple group at 67.81%, 68.75% and 68.75% respectively. The groups with a high level of encouragement were likely to have children.
