Abstract |
This investigation revealed that the key informants consisted of 79.6% males and 20.4% females with an average age of 38 years. Most of them, or 67.1%, were uneducated. The average scores on the knowledge about the state policies to solve land ownership problem were 7.28, while those on the opinions on the policies were 8.01. Statistically significant factors on recognizing the policies included duration of residence and knowledge as well as opinions on wildlife and forest resource conservation. Statistically significant factors on opinions on the policies were gender, occupation, and knowledge and opinions on wildlife and forest resource conservation. However, the factors that were not statistically significant were age, status in community, education, exposure to information, income, expenditure, and size of land ownership.
