Abstract |
The patterns of basketry of the Shan in Mae Hong Son Province are influenced by the natural environment and Karen demographic aspects. The structures are various depending on the materials used and their functions. Their functions include household utensils, furniture, consumption culture, and animal traps. Their aesthetic value is derived from their shapes, structures, designs, surfaces and colors of materials, and by their use.
