Abstract |
The study focuses on factors affecting the changes of the wife’s and mother’s roles of Skaw Karen women at Mae Kha Pu Village. Study methods include participatory observation by residing in the community for one year and in-depth interviews. It is found that innovations and contacts with the outside world are the main factors influencing the changes. Having tap water changes the role of the wife but not the role of the mother.
