Abstract |
It is found that the level of participation of the Karen ethnic group in improving mountain water quality is at the medium level (56%), while the knowledge on the issue after supervision is at the high level (92.4%). The factors positively and significantly related to the participation are income and exposure to information, whereas education, knowledge about clean water, knowledge about water conservation and development, knowledge about chemicals, and knowledge about water quality are not significantly related to their participation. After the water quality is analyzed in comparison with the criteria set up by the Interior Ministry, it is found that the quality is up to the standard.
