Abstract |
The objective of this research is to investigate socio-cultural preservation and changes to the Lue ethnic group. The study findings reveal that the ethnic group has its own identity regarding occupation, education, religion, belief, lifestyle, and language. However, their migration, time and environment greatly influence the changes to their socio-cultural situation. The main reason is that certain cultural aspects are not practical in the present social circumstances. Other aspects of their culture are still maintained because they are parts of their ethnic identity, such as their ethnic language (page 102).
